Description
The "Reimbursement of the wage increase for nursing and care staff pursuant to § 3 para. 2 no. 3 of the Nursing Fund Act (PFG)" provides public hospitals and spa institutions in Vienna with a purpose-specific subsidy to cover the extraordinary salary increases made in 2023. Eligible institutions are those under the Federal Act on Hospitals and Spa Institutions (Federal Law Gazette No. 1/1957) as well as those under regional legal regulations that employ nursing and care staff working in dependent employment according to the Health and Nursing Care Act (GuKG) and members of social care professions. The aim is to continue the wage increases for professional groups such as members of the higher service of health and nursing care, nursing assistants and aides, as well as social caregivers and home helpers.
The funding is provided as a grant amounting to EUR 2,460 per full-time employed person per year (including employer contributions). Applications can be submitted quarterly from April 1, 2026, until the funding volume is exhausted. Applicants must attach a properly formatted invoice (template), a signed self-declaration for payment in the 1st quarter, and the data collection form in the 4th quarter. Eligible expenses exclusively include the costs of the extraordinary wage increase. With this continuous funding opportunity, the State of Vienna supports the retention and appreciation of nursing staff and thereby strengthens care provision in the health and social sector.
