Description

In Carinthia, the state offers a continuously available grant funding for non-profit organizations and public institutions that provide housing options for people with disabilities. Funding is provided for full-time, part-time, and external care housing forms, housing network systems with or without day structure, as well as mobile residential support. The basis of the funding is § 13 para. 1 of the Carinthian Equal Opportunities Act (K-ChG), supplemented by an approval according to the Carinthian Home Act (K-HG) and a valid service contract with the state of Carinthia. The goal is to enable self-determined living according to individual abilities and needs, thereby increasing participation and quality of life.

Requirements include meeting the definition of disability according to § 2 K-ChG (excluding primarily age-related impairments or nursing home stays), the personal prerequisites according to § 5 K-ChG (e.g., Austrian citizenship or recognized asylum status), the necessity of the service, and the availability of an appropriate place. Applications can be submitted at any time; the authority decides within a maximum of four months. The informal application must be accompanied by a social-medical assessment report, a current specialist medical opinion, and proof of income. Payments are made directly to the service providers; residents contribute costs from income and care allowance. This funding strengthens equal opportunities and promotes independent living arrangements for people with disabilities.
