Description
The Zukunftsfonds Steiermark supports pioneering projects in the fields of economy, science, and research in Styria as a regional funding instrument. Eligible for funding are Styrian universities, non-profit non-university research institutions, as well as associations with a scientific purpose. Non-repayable grants ranging from 25% to 100% are awarded to initiatives that strengthen the research and science location and prepare for European and global challenges. Funding covers personnel costs, material costs, and overhead (max. 20% of personnel costs) as well as investments up to a net amount of €400. The open submission possibility at any time offers a flexible framework for acquiring funds for innovative research projects.
A prerequisite for funding is residency in Styria, a clearly defined scientific or research purpose, and application submission prior to project commencement. The funding process includes submitting a standardized application form with project description, work, cost and financing plans, as well as proof of submitted invoices and payment receipts. A formal review ensures that the allocated funds are used efficiently, economically, and effectively. Through gender-neutral language and transparent guidelines, all participants – from scientists and project leaders to organizational sponsors – are addressed. The unlimited deadline design enables continuous financing to sustainably advance future-oriented research ideas.
