About the funder
The Austrian Public Employment Service (AMS) is a division of the Federal Ministry for Labour, Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection and operates as a national public law service provider for the implementation of labour market policy. The AMS publishes annual research reports (e.g., the AMS Research Report 2022 with 84 projects and a total budget of EUR 5,471,486), issues informational brochures (e.g., "All About Work and Disability"), and operates 67 Career Information Centres (BIZ) as well as online tools such as the Occupational Information System, the Career Compass, and the Qualification Barometer. With target group-specific services – ranging from youth coaching and integrative vocational training to job coaching – the AMS promotes the placement and sustainable integration of job seekers into the Austrian labour market.

Mission & Vision
Our mission is to provide all job seekers, especially those facing barriers to the labor market, with needs-based counseling, qualification, and placement services. We strive for equal opportunities, ensure individual employability, and contribute to economic and social cohesion in Austria through active labor market policies.
Target groups
The funding and advisory services of the AMS are aimed at job seekers of all age groups and qualification levels. Special focus is placed on young people in the transition phase after compulsory schooling (AusBildung bis 18, Youth Training Guarantee), individuals with learning difficulties and/or disabilities, socially disadvantaged youth, migrants, as well as other groups facing barriers to the labor market, who are specifically supported through integrative vocational training, youth coaching, clearing procedures, and counseling.
