The Sächsische Landesmedienanstalt (SLM) is a public-law institution and the responsible supervisory and funding authority for private broadcasting and new media in the Free State of Saxony. The SLM initiates and accompanies competitions, supports regional media projects, and ensures that the diversity and quality of media offerings in Saxony are preserved and further developed.

Mission & Vision
The SLM is committed to a diverse, independent, and high-quality media landscape in Saxony. It ensures the protection of youth, promotes media literacy among the population, and strengthens local and regional information services through targeted funding programs. In doing so, it is guided by legal frameworks and its societal mandate to support the democratic opinion-forming process and to safeguard media diversity.
Target groups
Local and regional broadcasting and telemedia providers, journalists, and media initiatives in Saxony, project sponsors of extracurricular media education programs for adults, film producers, and organizers of media literacy competitions are supported. The goal is to strengthen citizens' participation in democratic discourse, improve the quality and diversity of local media offerings, and enhance competence in handling digital and traditional media.
