About the funder
The Saxon State Ministry for Science, Culture and Tourism (SMWK) is a supreme state authority of the Free State of Saxony, headquartered in Dresden. It is responsible for the promotion of universities and research institutions (universities, universities of applied sciences and arts, as well as non-university institutes), the support of scientific projects, and the promotion of young talent. At the same time, it oversees the departments of culture and tourism, broadly supporting museums, theaters, libraries, orchestras, and cultural initiatives, as well as coordinating the tourist development of Saxony.
