Wirtschafts- und Infrastrukturbank Hessen (WIBank)

The Wirtschafts- und Infrastrukturbank Hessen (WIBank) is the development bank of the state of Hesse and a legally dependent institution within Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen Girozentrale. Since 1993, WIBank has undertaken numerous tasks related to the support and management of ESF-funded measures. As an intermediary body and certifying authority for the European Social Fund (ESF+) in Hesse, it coordinates project application and approval procedures, processes funding from ESF and state resources, monitors the use of funds, and provides data and reports for the state administration and the European Commission. Furthermore, WIBank advises companies, municipalities, and social organizations on funding opportunities and is responsible for financial monitoring as well as conducting on-site audits and verification of fund usage.
