Department 6 – Education and Sport is a specialized department within the Office of the Carinthian State Government. It is responsible for the planning, coordination, and funding in the areas of school and vocational education, tertiary education initiatives, as well as sports development in Carinthia. Its tasks include, among others, the implementation of programs such as "Apprenticeship with Matura," the coordination of EU projects in the education and sports sectors, and the allocation of state funding for sports facilities, clubs, and educational institutions.

Our goal is to provide all Carinthian citizens with equal access to high-quality education and diverse sports opportunities. We promote innovative educational pathways, strengthen dual vocational training, and advocate for sustainable sports infrastructure. Together with our partners in municipalities, schools, and clubs, we shape a future-oriented educational and sports landscape in Carinthia.

The funding and advisory services of Department 6 are aimed at schools and vocational training institutions, non-profit Carinthian sports clubs and professional associations, students and trainees, teachers and coaches, as well as municipalities and local sports and education providers who plan and implement projects and investments in the fields of education, training, and sports.
