The Department of Agriculture and Forestry is a specialized division within the Directorate for Regional Planning, Economic and Rural Development at the Office of the Upper Austrian State Government. It develops, manages, and implements funding programs, subsidies, and guidelines to support agricultural enterprises, forestry businesses, and other stakeholders in Upper Austria. Thematic focal points include, among others, agricultural de minimis aid, biomass heating systems, investment promotion in rural areas, agricultural research and development, as well as the provision of diverse service and advisory offerings for agriculture and forestry.

Our mission is the sustainable and future-oriented promotion of agriculture and forestry in Upper Austria. We support agricultural and forestry enterprises in modernization, strengthen rural areas through targeted investment incentives, and promote ecological innovations. In doing so, we contribute to regional value creation, the protection of natural resources, and the securing of a vibrant, resilient agricultural and forestry sector.

The funding programs are aimed at natural and legal persons as well as communities of agricultural and forestry enterprises with an operational location in Upper Austria. Included are also research institutions, associations in the agricultural and forestry sectors, as well as SMEs in primary production. Target groups comprise all actors engaged in agriculture and forestry who wish to contribute to the sustainable development of rural areas.
