The Bezirksregierung Arnsberg is a modern, efficient, and citizen-friendly authority of the state intermediate level of North Rhine-Westphalia. It consolidates responsibilities from nearly all state ministries for the Arnsberg administrative district (South Westphalia and the eastern Ruhr area) and acts as a responsible service provider for citizens, municipalities, associations, and businesses. With around 2,000 employees at nine locations across an area of approximately 8,000 km² serving more than 3.5 million inhabitants, it undertakes a broad range of tasks: from occupational safety to environmental protection, education, municipal supervision, energy and climate protection, cultural promotion, rural development, legacy of old mining, ordnance disposal, to economic development. The Bezirksregierung Arnsberg coordinates funding programs, approves projects, and offers comprehensive advice and administrative services.
