The Fonds Soziales Wien (FSW) is the social institution of the City of Vienna, ensuring that residents in Vienna receive the support they need quickly and without bureaucracy. With an annual budget of approximately €2.56 billion (as of 31.12.2023) and around 2,600 employees, the FSW manages services in the areas of care and support, disability assistance, homelessness aid, basic provision, as well as debt counseling and refugee assistance. Approximately 145,000 clients per year are individually supported in cooperation with about 170 partner organizations. The FSW also operates the telephone health advisory service 1450 and is the sponsor of the Social Relief Fund of the Mayor of Vienna.
